Featured Performer at The Globe, Monday, May 9th, 2011

I’ll be appearing again at The Globe from 8:00 to 9:00 pm as the “opening act” before Hank Hirsh’s jazz jam session starts at 9:00 pm.  Hank’s quartet features Hank on bass, Matt Farina on drums, Hikaru Okada on keyboards, and Rick Homer on trumpet and Mellophone. I love singing with these guys! The Globe is at 2045 SE Belmont Street and features wood oven pizzas, a cozy bar, a community table, and walls which serve as a gallery for a different local artist each month. Hank creates a welcoming atmosphere for musicians, so bring your instrument.

Featured Performer at The Globe, Monday, April 4th, 2011

I’m back at the Globe this month,  2045 SE Belmont Street, where the cozy bar up front, the woodburning pizza oven, the large community table, and the stage in the back give the place that friendly Portland community feeling.

Hank Hirsh leads a jam session here every Monday night, and the first hour, 8pm -9pm, features a guest performer each week.

I so enjoy Hank’s quartet, with Rick Homer’s tasty work on muted trumpet and mellophone, Matt Farina on drums (he’s never overpowering!) Hikaru Okada on keyboards, and alto man Hank Hirsh on (yes) bass! We always have a good time; hope you can join us!

Right on the corner, just west of  The Secret Society. Parking in the county lot acroos the street on Russell.  Spicy African food; I look forward to the fish stew any time I know that I will be going to this spot. Come for dinner and jazz; then have a drink while you wait for the Reggae DJ’s to set up for the dance party around 10 pm!

Tune into Tony Pacini’s “Jazz Connections” radio show on KMHD radio 89.1 FM on Friday, March 18th from 10am to 1pm. From 11am to noon, I will be Tony’s guest, sharing some of my favorite music with Tony and the listening audience. Tony features a different musical guest each week, and it is an honor to be invited to join my favorite local pianist (who is also a fabulous radio personality!)
